Canadian Organizations

  • CAIAC (Canadian Artificial Intelligence Association)
Formerly known as the Canadian Society for the Computational Studies of Intelligence (or Société canadienne pour l’étude de l’intelligence par ordinateur), CAIAC’s mission is to foster excellence and leadership in research, development and education in Canada’s artificial intelligence community
  • CHCCS/SCDHM (Canadian Human-Computer Communications Society / Société canadienne du dialogue humain-machine)
The CHCCS/SCDHM is a non-profit organization dedicated to advancing research and education in the fields of computer graphics, visualization and human-computer interaction. It is a Special Interest Group within the Canadian Information Processing Society (CIPS).
  • CIPPRS (Canadian Image Processing and Pattern Recognition Society)
CIPPRS is a special interest group of the Canadian Information Processing Society (CIPS) and is the national representative organization of the International Association of Pattern Recognition (IAPR). Established in the 1970’s, CIPPRS’ key annual activity is the sponsorship of the Canadian Conference on Computer and Robot Vision (CRV), formerly known as Vision Interface (VI). CRV (and previously VI) have a tradition of being co-located with AI and GI, a pair of conferences focused on on artificial intelligence and on computer graphics and human-computer interfaces.
  • CRA (Computing Research Association)
Founded in 1972, CRA’s membership includes more than 200 North American organizations active in computing research: academic departments of computer science, information, and computer engineering, laboratories and centers (industry, government, and academia), and affiliated professional societies (AAAI, ACM, CACS/AIC, IEEE Computer Society, SIAM, USENIX).
