The Creative Interactions Lab at Carleton University is seeking a talented and motivated postdoctoral fellow to conduct research on HCI research on novel wearables for accessibility.

We are interested in HCI candidates who have expertise or interests in wearables, deformation user interactions, shape-shifting interfaces, e-textiles, tangible user interfaces, digital fabrication. Candidates with accessibility research experience are encouraged to apply, independent of technical experience.

Our lab is a dynamic and interdisciplinary environment dedicated to novel interaction techniques with deformable and wearable devices. We've been recently featured in the Day in the Lab series from Interactions Magazine (https://dl.acm.org/doi/10.1145/3389153).

The postdoc will initiate new projects based on their unique background and expertise, and contribute to the leadership of ongoing projects. The postdoc will also have the opportunity to co-supervise students, participate in outreach activities with the community, connect with industry partners, attend workshops from training programs in accessibility (https://carleton.ca/readi/) and usability (https://carleton.ca/clue/), write grants proposals.

If you find the lab interesting, please get in touch - we can talk about exciting ideas that you have in mind!

Qualifications -- A successful candidate has:

* a PhD in HCI or a related field
* track record of publication in high-quality venues related to HCI
* creativity, independence and excellent team and communication skills

Start date: Fall 2020; negotiable/flexible depending on your Ph.D. degree completion.

Location: In-person is preferred, but remote postdocs are possible (especially given the quarantine).

To apply, please submit the following information to audrey.girouard@carleton.ca: CV (including publication list), research statement, names, and contact information of three references. Including PDFs of three selected publications would be appreciated.
